Julianne goes to the dentist

Julianne had her first dentist appointment this week - the dentist said she had perfect teeth!  She did so well - she let the hygienist clean, floss and give her fluoride.    In the beginning of the appointment the hygienist told her we she was going to make her teeth clean and sparkly - so what Jules do... When she was done she asked for a mirror and said - "they're not sparkly..."  :-) Kids take things so literally!!

Look at those "sparkly" teeth!

One month down...

On Sunday, Will turned one month old!!!  Okay - I just have to say - I'm GLAD that month is over.  I'm not one of those people to sugar-coat things so I'll just say it like it is - It is harddd taking care of a newborn!  Will isn't the most content baby and has the most heart-wrenching scream, so there have been many hard days this first month.  However I am happy to report that the last few days have been better - I hope this continues!  Thank goodness for my mom, Nick's mom and my sisters who have helped me and made sure I am keeping my sanity.

By looking at the pictures, you can see that Will is a good eater!!!  He isn't the best sleeper though.  He will usually give me 4-5 hours first at night, but then is up every 2 hours or so and has trouble getting back to sleep around 4 or 5 am.   That makes for some short nights and long days for mommy!!!  His daytime napping can vary; one day he'll sleep a lot and the next day he'll only take short cat naps which makes him quite cranky!

1st Day of Preschool

We officially have a preschooler in our house now!  Julianne has one week of preschool under her belt and she loves it!  I was very proud of her - she wasn't scared and has faced all the new things like a really big girl!  I suppose mommy was more nervous that she was for this new adventure...

Has her backpack and is ready to go!

What a big girl!

Frank Family - 2nd Edition

William Steven Frank has arrived!  He was born on Thursday, August 16, at 1:36 am.  He weighed 9 lbs 4.5 ounces (no wonder I was so uncomfortable!!) and was 21 1/2 inches long.  This delivery was much shorter and easier than Julianne's.  My water broke (at home - thank goodness!) at 3pm on Wednesday, we were at the hospital by 4:30 pm, I had my epidural at 11:45pm and he was born at 1:36am.

So far things are going well.  He seems to be pretty content when he's awake, which isn't often!  He's a good sleeper and I often have to wake him to eat.  Julianne has been good with Will; although I feel like I'm constantly telling her to "be careful" and "be gentle!"  She loves to get right in his face and snuggle with him.

Here's a few teaser pictures for you - more to come...

Belly Update

I suppose it's about time I do an update on my "situation."  I'm doing fine although almost 39 weeks along and READY TO BE DONE!!!!  The month of July just about killed me... I don't think I've ever sweat so much in my entire life! I'm glad that month is over and I can almost see the finish line!  All of my appointments have been going well and everything is right on track.  I am all set at home and at work so any time this babe wanted to come would be fine with me!

 Alissa (27 weeks) and I (37 weeks)

The bellies!! I win!

 38 weeks

38 weeks - side view.  Holy Moly - that's all I'm going to say..........

Top 5 Reasons I think my belly has stretched far enough:
5.  The stares and comments from complete strangers - "oh my gosh - you're going to have a BIG baby!"
4.  My maternity shirts are starting to get too small and when I wear Nick's shirts, my belly hangs out the bottom
3.  I can't sit in a booth at a restaurant anymore; I can't fit between the table and booth!
2.  I have to turn sideways when I wash dishes or try to wash my hands because I can't reach the sink
and...
1.  I need to move my seat back in the car because my belly keeps touching the steering wheel!
