Six years ago today...

Six years ago today Nick and I met for the first time.  We were at the Eagles Club in Litchfield (yes, we met at a bar... ) with our separate group of friends.  I suppose I have my friend Barb to thank for us getting together - Nick and I exchanged phone numbers that night.  Barb was always looking out for me; so she called the number Nick gave me on our way home from Litchfield just to make sure he didn't give me a fake number. :-)  Well, Nick saw that I had called him so he called me back and the rest is history!

Girl's Night

On Sunday, my mom, sisters, "auntie Jan" and I went to see the play "I Do, I Do" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.  We had gotten the tickets for my Grandma for Christmas, but unfortunately she is recovering from a recent surgery so wasn't able to go.  But luckily Jan was able to come with us!  It was a fun evening with lots of yummy food and good laughs!  The play was great - the cast consisted of just two people.  It highlighted the times in their marriage from the rosy beginning, through the ups and downs and came full circle when their kids left home and got married themselves.  The singing and acting were wonderful and a good time was had by all!

And since I'm such an AWESOME daughter/sister I got Alissa, Kelly and Mom a present...

Their very own cookbook!  (All proceeds go towards the new Senior Care Center in Hutchinson - let me know if you're interested... :-) )  They were very excited about their presents as you can tell.

 

We were also celebrating that Alissa just finished her final 35+ page paper for her Master's Degree.  Way to go Auntie 'Lissa!

And since it's our Birthday Month...

We just had to have dessert!  This was the biggest piece of carrot cake I've ever seen.  Oh soooo good!

TGIF!

I am sooo glad it's Friday!  It's been a really long week and I'm ready for the weekend!  Julianne has been sick all week with the worst cold she's ever had... She was extremely plugged up in her sinuses and then developed a cough with it too.  Thankfully she never had a fever, but she was one rough little girl this week!  She slept okay at night (which was my savior!) but she was awake every morning my 5:10 am!  This momma's not ready to start her day that early.... zzzz...   Not to mention the mommy-guilt I had with sending her to daycare.  She didn't have a fever so she was able to go, but now I'll probably get the stink-eye from the other daycare parents when their child is sick next week.  Oh well, that's how it goes - I imagine that's how she got sick in the first place so we're just passing it on to the next one!  My daycare provider said Julianne was better today so I'm hoping she's finally on the up-swing.  Hopefully this weekend she can get some good rest and she'll be as good as new by Monday - when she'll pick up the next round of germs at daycare... :-) 

Welcome Baby Bree!

On Friday, March 4, 2011, the Frank family welcomed a new member into their family!  Nick's sister Ashley and her husband Derek had their new addition, Bree Josephine Barden, at 5:33 am.  She was 6 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long.  Unfortunately, Julianne has a very runny nose right now and a cough, so we're going to keep our germs away from the Bardens and are not going to be able to meet Bree this weekend.  Hopefully next weekend we can meet the new little princess!
