Winter fun

We took advantage of the sun and warmer temps today and headed outside for some fresh air.  The kids loved it!

Jules and Will

Will in his sled

And Jules in her sled.  She loves sliding down the snow piles this year.  However, she still flips out if she falls off or gets snow in her sleeve or boots...

Daddy got the snowmobile running

And we took rides on the Ranger.

Jason and FGL

On Friday, January 17, our friends Kurt and Megan Dingmann, went to the Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line concert with us at the Excel Center in St. Paul.  It was F-U-N!!  It was good to get out and do some adult things for once.  Although, our kids seemed to think it was a good idea to not take their regular naps this weekend so we're all lacking a little sleep!!  My sister Kelly and brother in law Jake watched all four of our kids at Kurt and Megan's house in Farmington while we were at the concert.  I think all of us had a fun time - the kids loved playing together and we had a fun night out on the town!

Florida Georgia Line - from our seats with the zoom on, and

Jason Aldean, from our seats with the zoom off!  We were on the club level and towards one side.  But the seats were really great.  We could see everything really well.

Being silly between FGL and Jason.  There's a 2 beer per person limit, so we loaded up so we wouldn't have to get out of our seats so often!

Awww, if only this was real...

The crew after the concert.  Thanks for a fun time guys!

Ice Fishing

I got Nick a portable fish house for Christmas and he was anxious to use it.  So we headed to Steve and Sheri's place on Big Kandi and went fishing one of the warmer days the end of December. Nick and Steve did a little fishing, but the kids and I played around for a little bit outside, then joined Grandma inside for the rest of the day!

Mommy and Will in the new fish house

The prettiest snow angel I've ever seen!

Daddy and Jules setting up

Daddy drilling holes for fishing - and worried that Will is about to step in one of them!

We were quite a ways out there!   Steve and Sheri's house is straight ahead from Will and just to the right a little bit. It's the big one...

The fisherman!  I think I caught Steve in the middle of a bit of his sandwich! The fishing hasn't been great out at Big Kandi this winter.  They've seen a ton of smaller ones, but nothing has even been biting for them.

Sunset from the fish house.  This was after I brought them their supper - no, I wasn't fishing for that long!

We are starting to enjoy going to the lake in the Winter just as much as we did in the Summer!

Christmas 2013 Part 4

The last, and final, Christmas event was at my mom and dad's on Saturday, December 28.  This was my family christmas and once again, we were spoiled!!!

Just look at the tree - good thing they have a big house so there is room of all those presents!  They put 3 red bows in their tree for their 3 grandchildren... so cute!

And all the kids - both big and little - still get stockings!

The boys!  This is about the closest they get to actually playing with each other.  But give them a few years and they'll really be getting into trouble!

We all spent the night at my parents and after the kids went to bed - we got nuts!  We drank wine and played the Newlywed Game!

The guys deep in thought during the game.  We played three rounds and Nick and I didn't win one!  The other three couples each won one round.

Grandpa and the boys the next morning!

So, that's it - another Christmas in the books!   It's still as busy as ever, but also getting more fun as the kids are getting older.  This year we missed out on the Loncorich extended Christmas because it was on the same day as the Frank party, so we were bummed about not getting to see them.  We love our families and so enjoy spending time with them.  Till next year!

Christmas 2013 Part 3

Christmas Day morning, we spent at home with the kids.  It was our only time with just the four of us.  Santa came that night so we opened the presents and the kids got to spend a little time playing with their new toys.  Nick had to feed his cattle that morning so we all went along and spent the rest of the day at Steve and Sheri's.  My mom and dad ended up coming over as well for supper.  It was a great way to spend Christmas - with everyone who was most important to us!

Julianne with all the Santa presents!

Ok - so it's hard to get them both to look at me at the same time!!  This is the best photo I got.  Will had already gotten into his stocking and is trying to get the Reese's Peanut Butter tree open...

Christmas 2013 Part 2

Part 2 of Christmas was Christmas Eve.  We were a little nervous about the weather so headed to Church for the 2 pm Family Service.  Tony and Jessie joined us at church and then we headed to Steve and Sheri's for their Christmas celebration.  Sheri never disappoints us with her food menu - we had chicken and shrimp on the grill!  It was all so yummy, as usual.  I'm not a seafood lover, so I took Nick's word that the shrimp was good - he had 14 of them!
